Bull Terrier Puppies

Bull Terrier

Today, the Bull Terriers are sweet, energetic, playful dogs that require a lot of attention and love. If they are ignored, behavioral problems may develop. Early obedience classes and socialization with children, adults and other animals are recommended. Bull Terriers come in white, brindle, red and fawn colors. The Bull Terrier breed was created for fighting, ratting and bull baiting in England in the 19th century.

The ancestor of the modern Bull Terrier was a deliberate cross between a Bulldog and a large, smooth Black and Tan Terrier. Bull TerrierThe early Bulldog-terrier cross proved to be extremely aggressive dogs with the power of the Bulldog and the speed, tenacity and intelligence of the Terrier. Although, like bull-baiting, dog fights were eventually banned, the Bull Terrier became a successful show and family dog. Careful breeding also managed to calm his temperament.

The Bull Terrier is an excellent guard and companion dog. Powerful and very energetic, he is a devoted and intelligent family companion. He will not fight unless provoked, but when he does, he can kill dogs much larger than himself. He is absolutely unsuitable for first-time dog owners and must ve carefully trained. Female Bull Terriers are more gentle and easier to house-train. There is no grooming required on a Bull Terrier. If you show the dog in conformation it is desirable to clip the whiskers on the face and above the eyes.
