English Pointer Owners Talk
"...Our first dog was a beautiful female Pointer. She was good with children and all other dogs, never needing to be leashed on walks in the woods, and was very loving, sitting on my husbands lap or next to him almost every evening..."

"...If you ask someone to describe a Pointer, you'll often hear phrases such as "hyper," "not fit for apartment living", "only care about birds, not people," etc. Before I got my first one, I was almost afraid that they would be too much to deal with. Then, when I brought my Pointer puppy home, she was (and is) the sweetest, most gentle, calm and kind dog you could ever meet..."

My Rescue Pointer
I adopted a three year old Eng Pointer three years ago. I had also heard they were hyper and that's why I went for an older dog who had some basic training and needed a home. She has turned out to be the most loyal and loving dog ever.
As long as she gets her 30 min walk per day she is usally snoozing on the couch. Although I can NEVER let her off a leash or her hunting instincts TAKE OVER and she is GONE! It happened once and I didn't think I would see her again. Check out PointerRescue.org they have lots of Pointers that need GOOD homes!
