Amphomycin is a highly surface active acidic polypeptide antibiotic. It is mainly active against gram-negative bacteria and yeast. 2
Calcium amphomycin is the calcium salt of amphomycin. It is indicated for the use in dogs for the following conditions associated with bacterial infections caused by organisms susceptible to one or both antibiotics: 1
- Acute otitis externa
- Folliculitis
- Pruritis (itching)
- Anal gland infections
- Superficial wounds and abscesses
