Atipamezole Hydrochloride

Atipamezole hydrochloride is a selective alpha2-adrenergic receptor antagonist. In dogs, atipamezole hydrochloride is used for reversal of the sedative and analgesic effects of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride or medetomidine hydrochloride.2 It reverses alpha2-agonists such as medetomidine (Domitor) and xylazine. Arousal from sedation should occur within 5-10 minutes of injection.3
