Diatrizoate Meglumine
Diatrizoate meglumine is a commonly used water-soluble, iodinated, radiopaque x-ray contrast medium for gastrointestinal studies, angiography, and urography. Iodine is known to be particular electron-dense and to effectively scatter or stop X-rays. Modern iodinated contrast agents can be used almost anywhere in the body. 1
In dogs and cats it is administered for radiography of the gastrointestinal tract.
