Dirlotapide

Dirlotapide is a selective microsomal triglyceride transfer protein inhibitor that blocks the assembly and release of lipoprotein particles into the bloodstream in dogs. 2

Dirlotapide (Selentrol) is indicated for the management of obesity in dogs. The drug is intended for oral administration. Side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, constipation and dehydration. 1,2 Dogs should be weighed monthly and the dose should be adjusted every month, as necessary, until the desired weight is achieved. 3
