Doxapram Hydrochloride
Doxapram hydrochloride is a central nervous system and respiratory stimulant with a brief duration of action; increases behavioral alertness, agitation, or excitation. 1
In dogs, cats, and horses the drug is primarily used to stimulate respiration during and after general anesthesia; to speed awakening and return of reflexes after anesthesia. 2 Stimulations of other portions of central nervous system occurs only when high dose levels are used. 3
