Gentamicin Sulfate
Gentamicin is an antibiotic of aminoglycoside class. It interferes with bacterial protein production by destroying the bacterial cell membrane.
The injectable form is used for treatment for various bacterial infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bacterial endocarditis, and eye infections (topically). 2
Gentamicin ophthalmic solution is used for the topical treatment of infections of the conjunctiva caused by susceptible bacteria in dogs and cats. 3
Gentamicin sulfate betamethasone valerate otic solution is used in dogs and cats for the treatment of superficial infected lesions caused by bacteria sensitive to gentamicin.
