Isopropamide Iodide
Isopropamide iodide is a long-lasting anticholiergic drug used to suppress gastric and pancreatic secretions.
Isopropamide iodide is used for the treatment of a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, including peptic ulcer, gastritis, hyperchlorhydria, diarrhea, irritable or spastic colon, etc. 2
In dogs and cats the drug is for the treatment of dogs in which gastrointestinal disturbances are associated with emotional stress. 3
Isopropamide iodide may cause reactions in patients sensitive to iodine. In dogs it can cause gastric retention of food, intestinal obstruction, abnormally high heart rate, and increased intraocular pressure. 4
