Marbofloxacin

Marbofloxacin is broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic registered for veterinary use. It acts by inhibiting important bacterial cell enzymes thereby preventing DNA synthesis.

The fluoroquinolones have variable activity against most streptococci and are not usually used for these infections. ¹

In dogs and cats marbofloxacin is used for the treatment of infections associated with bacteria susceptible to marbofloxacin. ²

The adverse effects of marbofloxacin are usually limited to vomiting, soft stool, loss of appetite and decreased activity. ¹
