Methocarbamol
Methocarbamol is a skeletal muscle relaxant, particularly in dogs with intervertebral disk disease.
Methocarbamol is chemically related to guaifenesin. Methocarbamol's exact contracted skeletal muscles. The drug has a secondary sedative effect. 5
In dogs, cats, and horses methocarbamol (Robaxin®-V Injectable ) is indicated as an adjunct for treating acute inflammatory and traumatic conditions of the skeletal muscles and to reduce muscular spasms. Robaxin®-V Tablets are administered to only dogs and cats. 2
Common side effects in dogs and cats include excessive secretion of saliva, weakness, incoordination, shaking, and vomiting. 4
