African Butterfly Cichlid

African Butterfly Cichlid (Anomalochromis thomasi) belongs to the family Cichlidae (cichlids). This species is commonly found in freshwater habitats in Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia.

Size: Males are 4 inches long; females are much smaller. The species is rather territorial but also tolerant of other species.

Diet: Accepts wide range of foods, both vegetable and livefood components are recommended.

Aquarium settings: The aquarium should be well planted, with hiding places and flat topped or smoothly rounded pebbles. Water chemistry is not critical, but soft, slightly acid conditions are best for breeding.
