The German Shepherd is self assured, balanced with strong nerves and absolutely impartial behavior, whilst maintaining a good nature - until pushed to the limit. The German Shepherd Blog welcomes German Shepherd breeders as well as current German Shepherd owners to share their knowledge of this wonderful dog breed. We hope that this information will help prospective German Shepherd owners to raise happy and healthy German Shepherd dogs and puppies.

If your dog eats non-food materials...

If your German Shepherd puppy eats non-food materials, it may indicate an underlying health condition or a behavioral problem. Some veterinarian specialists associate pica with health disorders: iron deficiency anemia, chronic stomach or intestinal disease, such as chronic pancreatitis, swallowing problems, lead toxicity and other diseases. First, you should consult with your veterinarian surgeon about your dogs possible health problems. Your veterianrian may suggest changing your pet diet or including approved mineral supplements into your dog's diet.
