Connemara
The Connemara originated in the northwestern region of Ireland Connemara and is a direct descendent of the arctic wild ponies. The breed was developed by introducing Andalusian, Clydesdale and Arabian blood. The typical Connemara stands 13:2 to 14:2 hands. It's most outstanding characteristic is the ability to jump. Connemaras are used for driving, riding, pulling and carrying heavy weights. They are also bred as hunting ponies. The Connemara has a kind, easy-going nature.
