The Andalusian horse is considered to be one of the most ancient of horse breeds. The name Andalusian came from the region in southern Spain, Andalucia, where many famous stud farms are to be found. Andalusian horses laid the foundation for many European and American breeds. The Andalusian horse is couragious, strong, agile and is known for its kind temperament. It stands 15.2 to 16.2 hands (hand equals to 4 inches, used to measure the height of a horse at the highest point of the withers.)
