The Paint horse name came from Spanish "Painted", meaning "colored", and was used to describe variations in colors and markings. The Paint horse has a unique combination of white and black, brown, chestnut, sorrel, gray and some other colors. The Paint horse is very intelligent, eager to please and versatile which makes it an ideal companion for showing, racing, or trail riding.
