The Percheron was developed in the Perche region of France. It is a powerful horse standing 16-17 hands characterized by graceful movement, stamina and endurance. The main colors are gray and black. The Percheron is mainly used fore draft work and it is highly regarded for its hardiness, energy and mild disposition. The breed is very popular in the US and UK.
