Ketoconazole

Antifungal drug used for treatment of various systemic and skin fungal infections. It interferes with the building of triglycerides and phospholipids in fungi, so the cell membrane is not made. Potential side effects include itching, nausea, abdominal pain, severe irritation, hair loss, abnormal hair texture, scalp pustules, and skin dryness. It should be used with causiton in individuals with impaired liver function.
