Homozygote
An individual containing two identical forms of the same gene in all diploid (of a cell nucleus: containing two of each type of chromosome in homologous pairs and formed as a result of sexual reproduction) cells that is capable of pure breeding. Thus if gene A has two alleles, A1 and A2, two homozygous types are possible: A1/A1 and A2/A2.
