Thrombocytopenia

A reduced number of platelets in the blood which causes pinpoint hemorrhages in the skin and mucosa. In breeds like the Cavalier King Charles and English toy spaniels, mild to moderately severe familial thrombocytopenia can be an incidental finding in clinically normal animals.
