Burmilla Cat Breed

BurmillaThis breed began in England in 1980s through the accidental mating of a lilac Burmese queen and a silver (Chinchilla) Persian stud—hence the name Burmilla. Part of the Burmilla's attraction is its luminous coat—the ground color may be silver or golden-gently tipped in black, brown, or other standard Burmese colors. But an equal popularity factor is its even disposition.

When it comes to body proportions, they are similar to those of the Burmese, but its coat is slightly longer than that of the Burmese. Green eyes are set wide apart in a gently rounded head.

Personality Playful, outgoing, sociable, friendly, affectionate, and gentle.

Burmilla Colors The agouti coat, which appears in both standard and silver versions, may either be tipped or shaded, in the following colors: Black; Blue; Chocolate; Lilac; red; Caramel; Apricot; Cream; Black Tortie; Blue Tortie; Chocolate Tortie; Lilac Tortie; Caramel Tortie.

Also called the Silver Burmese, the delicately colored, handsome Burmilla has become one of the most popular breeds in UK and Australia. Photo Credit:
