Russian Blue cats are easily identified by their plush, silvery-blue coats. It is thought, that these cats were once the chosen cats of Russian Royalty. These cats gained much popularity in the United State following World War II. The Russian Blue cat is a very intelligent. They can be shy toward strangers, but are generally very affectionate toward their owners. Despite their shyness, the Russian Blue is generally very good with children and other pets. While they readily welcome the attention of their owners, they are also able to entertain themselves, making them a good choice of pet for owners with a more rigorous work schedule.

Breed Classification: Shorthaired

Colors: Clear blue and even throughout with silvery sheen; free from tabby marking or shading. medium blue color is preferred.

Coat: short, thick and very fine, standing up soft nd silky like seal coat. The double coat is very different from any other breed.

The nose leather and pads are blue. The almond-shaped eyes are green. The tail is faily long and tapering.

Life Span: 15+ Years

Personality: Graceful, quiet, sensitive, initially shy and reserved. Cautious of strangers yet extremely loyal to their owner. Loves to play around the house. Take time to develop an affectionate relationship with your Russian Blue cat.
