Turkish Angora

Turkish Angoras make wonderful pets. They are among the most intelligent of the cat breeds. They love their owners with a single minded devotion. Turks are long, elegant, finely boned creatures with smoothly pointed faces. They exhibit a wonderful grace when running and playing. Angoras have a great zest for living.

Their single, silky, medium length coats need only occasional grooming to look good. The Turkish Angora is now generally available in a full range of colors. White is still the most popular color, though this is rapidly changing, as more and more breeders realize the beauty of this elegant breed in a variety of exciting shades.

Social skills: Turkish Angora is very sociable and affectionate cat. It takes part in everything you do at home, if it does not have place on your lap, it sits on your shoulder.
Suitability for Children: They're generally known as good with children, as their activity level suits them just right.
Energy Level: High. Extremely busy. Loves running and playing. Not uncommon for Turks to make 9-foot jumps from a standing start. They should have lots of toys.
Noisiness: Quite vocal.
Health Issues: These are very healthy cats. A very few may be deaf.
Shedding: Single coat makes it less prone to shed when compared to Maine Coon. BTW: Angora sweaters come from goats or rabbits, not cats.
