The Electric Blue Acara (Andinoacara pulcher) is a color variety of the Blue Acara cichlid that is native to Central and South America. This is a small to medium-size fish that does well in a community aquarium housing cichlids and other fish species of similar size, disposition, and requirements.
It can be territorial but is generally peaceful. They rarely bother aquatic plants, but it is suggested that a few small stones be placed around their roots to prevent them from being accidentally displaced by the feeding fish.
This species is easy to maintain and feed as long as the water is kept clean pH is stable. Blue Acaras are carnivores with a set of well developed pharyngeal teeth in their throat along with their regular teeth.
