The Savannah Cat is a pedigree domestic feline and is recognised by TICA (The International Cat Association). TICA is the leading authority on feline breeds.
The overall impression of the Savannah cat is a tall lean graceful cat with sriking dark spots and other markings on a luxurious tawny, orange, gold, silver, black or black smoke background. The cat was created as a replica of the African Serval, a small spotted wild cat. The African Serval is often referred to as "small leopard". In fact, it is unrelated to leopards at all. This cat is about twice the size of a domestic cat.Savannah
Breeders and owners of this cat claim that it has a sweet outgoing personality and is said to be more dog like in their character. The temperament of a Savannah is predictable. However, no matter how far these cats are from the original wild cat cross, they are very active and curious and very high maintenance. They definitely need constant supervision, especially around other pets and animals.
