This is a large genus of mainly twining climbers, most with fragrant white, pink or yellow flowers. The Common Jasmine (Jasminum officinale), flowering in summer, is completely hardy.

The White Jasmine (Jasminum polyanthum), however, is generally grown as a conservatory plant, or pot-grown fro bringing into the house from a frost-free glasshouse. The scented white flowers open from pink buds. Prune hard after flowering and feed during the summer.
